A memoir, Smelter City Boy is a collection of linked short stories. When read together, the book tells the story of a tender-hearted kid trying his best to make sense of a tough-heeled town. The author, Grant Byington, was born and raised in Anaconda, Montana. Told with a hilarious and heartfelt voice, scenes include moments from his childhood, his early travels outside of Anaconda, and his yearnings as a young man under the big sky.
River City Man
A continuation of the story. River City Man is a book-in-the-works, and tells the coming-of-age story of the Smelter City Boy as he encounters the world outside his beloved home town.
